"As part of my pool area landscaping, I have a set of stone steps leading down from the pool deck to the lower back yard. Over time the steps started to settle, due to soil erosion and chipmunks borrowing underneath the steps. This caused the landing at the top of the steps to rise up and become a trip hazard (see "before" picture). I called Concrete Corrections and scheduled an appointment with Kelly. When we met, Kelly quickly assessed the situation and provided an informative overview of the approach and techniques that Concrete Corrections uses to address uneven concrete decks, patios, and steps. Given the unusual nature of my problem, Kelly took lots of pictures and measurements, and told me she wanted to consult with Richard about how best to address my issue before she provided me a quote (which I appreciated). After talking with Richard, Kelly provided me a detailed quote on the job which was easy to understand and follow. We agreed on the work as quoted, and scheduled an appointment to get the work done. Richard showed up on the date and time as promised, and walked me through the approach he was going to take. He completed the work in a timely manner, and cleaned up the work area. It was filled with rocks (for drainage) and packed-in dirt, but a few years later the void started again. Concrete Connections was able to lift my patio and restore it to it's original position without drilling holes through my flag stone covered patio. "As most pool owners know, the back fill around the walls has to support the concrete decking. If that back fill (dirt) settles, the concrete sections start to tilt away from the pool or sink completely. It looks bad, can be a trip hazard, and opens up a pathway for water to get in and do more damage.
Mine was sinking but most of the breaks were at expansion joint lines. This made the lifting process easier, I am told.
Anyway, we established a price (which I found to be in line with the guys who only pump grout/mud) and we added the front sidewalk where a couple of sections were slightly pointing toward the next door neighbor's house.
Richard brought Kelly with him and she was a delight to chat with when she wasn't assisting.
The warm up of the "stuff" and the drilling of the insertion holes was fairly quick and the lifting almost seemed magical.
The entire process should have taken about 3-4 hours but we all had such a good time talking football, gorillas (you ask them when they come to your house!) and all sorts of other things, that it took about 5 hours.
All in all, they did a great job and if you are near Snellville, you can call and come by to see."
